"Stay with me Gabriel!" Freyr begged. He knew better, but he was just so desperate.

Gabriel deserved better. Gabriel had saved him. Several times over he had saved him, and not once was he asked to. Freyr knew Gabriel loved him more than anything, knew he wanted to protect him from this horrible, fucked up world... all while knowing he wouldn't be rewarded, wouldn't have his love returned in kind. He didn't deserve punishment for that.

"Stay with me... don't leave me in the dark..." He sobbed, touching the other's face delicately. He ran his fingers along his jawline lovingly, a touch Gabe had always quietly longed for. A love he'd never known. Freyr brushed hair out of the boy's face and adjusted his scarf so that his wounds were covered--but nothing could be done about the bleeding. Gabe was going to die, he knew it, Freyr knew it... but for once the Seer's own emotions overrode any empathy he might have felt. Where Gabe had accepted his fate, Freyr refused. He kept calling out Gabe's name and begging him to stay, bewildered and hurt--so very hurt.

"Freyr," Gabe whispered, his voice shook with cold and shock... but not fear, "I don't regret anything. The world needs you, just like I needed you. You changed my life, and you're going to change the world, too." He smiled up at his close friend. Remembering when they first met. Remembering all the moments he had with the other, none more or less cherished than the last. Gabriel loved him, loved the very idea of him. Someone so pure and perfect, so powerful and gentle... Someone who could purify this wretched land.

Freyr's tears formed little droplets on Gabe's glasses as they fell; he wasn't even trying to hold them back. He rubbed his thumb against Gabe's cheek, "You changed my life too, Gabriel. You changed the world, Gabriel. You are amazing."
